The Washington High School Key Club spent Earth Day at Blue Ridge Primary School teaching the Pre-K through second grade classes about Earth Day. The teens read books, did Earth Day crafts and science experiments in the classrooms. Afterward, the Key Clubbers picked up litter along BRP’s walking trail and ended their time at BRP with a picnic lunch on the playground. The BRP students loved having the teens in their classrooms and making Earth Day crowns, necklaces, planting seeds and/or learning about the water cycle and making their own water filtration “tank”. Both Key Clubbers and the students at BRO hope this becomes an annual event.
