KOKUYO Co., a company office furniture and stationery, has announced a definitive agreement to acquire HNI Corporation’s India business. This acquisition is a key step in KOKUYO’s “CCC 2030" vision.

Introduced in 2021, CCC 2030 stands for Change, Challenge, Create, focusing on sustainable, self-directed growth across work, learning, and lifestyle domains.

    KOKUYO, listed on the Tokyo stock exchange, is known for its innovation and quality. With over 7,600 employees and operations across Asia, it already has a strong presence in India through KOKUYO Camlin. The acquisition strengthens KOKUYO’s commitment to India, positioning the company for sustained regional growth.

    HNI India, a design-led office furniture brand with strong manufacturing capabilities, rooted in the Japanese kaizen approach, complements KOKUYO’s strengths and expands its footprint in the Indian and Asian markets. Karan Sachdev, Managing Director of HNI India, stated that the acquisition brings together two complementary players: HNI India, with local manufacturing and customer focus, and KOKUYO, known for furniture design and workplace innovation. This move enhances their ability to deliver innovative workplace solutions tailored for India.
